Objectives :
How effective is an advertisement? What is the difference between a good and a bad one? Every day, many professionals ask themselves these questions, and many more, and come up with some really surprising answers. Will that be the case for the pupils? After designing advertisements with graphic artists, will they be able to say with certain observers that advertising can be sensitive and intelligent?
Workshop:
With the help of the graphic designers the classes first looked at the history of advertising and communication in general. How do they relate to the images that flood our environment? Especially the advertisements.
Specifications were drawn up: Who is the client? What type of advertisement is required? What are the targets? Each class worked on an advertising campaign in the form of posters or a video. They had to design advertisements for “useless objects” such as Chindogu inventions.
The classes split into several creative teams and put into practice what they had learnt in the previous phases to produce a mock-up of their advertising campaign.
Outcome:
The pupils' work was collected in a set of 14 poster advertisements of which 100 copies were printed and distributed to the schools. It was an advertising campaign for useless objects.
